Work at Ferry Point – Richmond, California

Photos of Lind Marine equipment at Ferry Point, Richmond, California. The company was contracted to remove old pier piles.

Ferry Point was the western terminus of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. The pier was built in 1900 to facilitate intermodal freight and passenger transport from Richmond to San Francisco and other locations around San Francisco Bay.

Thank you for the update on the piers, and for capturing some of the lesser-known craft around our waterways. Lind’s fleet is mostly second-hand. ANDREW CARTER was built in 1957 by Todd, Seattle as the FOSS 183. SONNY DELIGHT is a 140-foot barge of questionable origin but was among the “floating equipment” sold on the closure of the Mare Island Naval Shipyard.
