Falls of Clyde (1878)
The Falls of Clyde was built by Russell and Co. at Port Glasgow, Scotland. She was launched on 12 December 1878 (146 years ago). She was originally a full-rigged ship but was later converted to a barque.
Happy Birthday, Old Friend.
Now that her National Historic Landmark status has been stripped from her, it seems that her luck has finally run out. Will this be her last birthday? The thought makes me so very sad.
I know that not all ships can be saved, but she deserves to be.
