OVER THE WALLS.
A Native Prisoner Escapes From the City Police Station.
Wood Wahie, native sailor, played quite a caper with the police Wednesday night. He was locked up for drunkenness. At 2 o‘clock he left his cell, successfully scaled the wall of the jail yard and escaped to his home. The facts were known about daylight and officers were sent in search of the runaway. He was found quietly sleeping in his bed at home, and hustled back to the station. Judge De la Vergne fined him $2 for being drunk, and $4 for leaving the station yard.
