Day of the Seafarer 2024
Today (25 June) is designated as the Day of the Seafarer. It is an official United Nations international observance day that was established in 2010 in order to “recognize the unique contribution made by seafarers from all over the world to international seaborne trade, the world economy and civil society as a whole.”
This year’s theme is: Safety Tips at Sea

Mariners can share their tips and images related to safety practices in their work environment. This can be done via social media by using the hashtag #SafetyTipsAtSea
Organizations and the general public are also encouraged to participate.
