POISON BOOZE MAKES SAILOR LIKE MADMAN
Alcoholic poisoning turned James Stewart, a sailor, into more or less of a wild man at the emergency hospital yesterday. Stewart was rescued from the water at Pier 5 after he had “gone overboard,” and was revived with difficulty.
Once in the hospital be showed violent signs of life, however, and it became necessary to strap him to a bed. He raved and he shouted. He heard voices in the air and he tried to pick things off the wall. After two hours he became more calm and finally, about 1:30 was released.
