Horizon Pacific (1979)
Under gloomy skies, Pasha Hawaii’s Horizon Pacific (IMO 7617890) sailed from Pier 51A,* Honolulu Harbor. She was assisted by Foss Maritime tugs Mikioi and Pi‘ilani. She was the last large ship to leave the harbor before the port was closed at 1100.
Horizon Pacific joined other ships and boats that left the harbor for waters north of the Hawaiian Islands in order to avoid the dangerous conditions associated with Hurricane Lane.
*Horizon Pacific arrived the night before (22 August 2018). Some of her containers were unloaded overnight.
