Asuka II is owned and operated by NYK (Nippon Yusen Kaisha).
She was originally named Crystal Harmony and was operated by Crystal Cruises from 1990–2006. At that time, Crystal Cruises was owned by NYK. She was transferred to NYK in 2006 to replace the original Asuka.
