Log: Maunawili Delayed by Fog off China
By Captain Steve Slead, Master, MV Maunawili
Ningbo, China—The MV Maunawili arrived on time from Naha, Okinawa, on Sunday the 29th of April [2018] and anchored offshore awaiting Ningbo Pilot and Berthing. Monday morning the 30th, the port was closed due to dense fog. It is now Tuesday the 1st of May and we are still fogged in at anchor. Unfortunately, it is common for this time of year in China. We are hoping to shift to pilot and berth sometime tomorrow morning. We still have our Shanghai port call to make before heading home to Long Beach. It is tough to stay on schedule.
Maunawili is part of Matson’s fleet.
