2017 Dave Lyman Memorial Scholarship Fund Dinner
The biennial Dave Lyman Memorial Scholarship fundraising dinner will be held on Thursday, 1 June 2017 from 1730 (5:30 p.m.) to 2130 (9:30 p.m.) at the Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant by Aloha Tower.

Join Hawai‘i’s waterfront ‘ohana and support a good cause. This event raises money to fund scholarships for Hawai‘i students attending the California Maritime Academy (Cal Maritime). The campus is located in the city of Vallejo and is part of the California State University system.
The scholarship is named in honor of Captain Dave “Kawika” Lyman, who was a Cal Maritime graduate. Captain Lyman was well known and respected as a skilled harbor pilot and as a crew member of the Polynesian voyaging canoe Hōkūleʻa. His death in 2006, resulting from an accident that occurred while he was disembarking from a cruise ship to the waiting pilot boat, was a terrible blow to the waterfront community, his fellow mariners, friends, and loved ones.
