Los Angeles Steamship Company Brochure
Hawaii Direct From Los Angeles: Fares & Sailings 1930
This brochure gives the schedule for the Los Angeles Steamship Company’s sailings to Honolulu from Los Angeles in 1930. Starting in 1922, LASSCO increased its range from trips just between LA and San Francisco to voyages all the way to the Hawaiian Islands. Throughout the 1920s, the company competed with Matson, which sailed only from San Francisco. Eventually Matson bought out its competitor and pulled its ships from service, and used both Los Angeles and San Francisco harbors. (DeSoto Brown Collection)
