The Sales Builder – September 1934
Back and front covers of The Sales Builder magazine, September 1934
This small monthly magazine, The Sales Builder, covered just one aspect of Hawai‘i’s daily life in each individual issue. With two actual local can labels for Coral and Mid-Pacific brands of tuna glued to its cover, you can guess what this issue’s subject is. The Hawaiian Tuna Packers company was located at Kewalo Basin, conveniently close to the docks where Honolulu’s fishing fleet tied up. The smell produced by the cannery fortunately was blown seaward by the trade winds most of the time. (DeSoto Brown Collection)
